Nel cast del film di Gennaro Nunziante oltre a Checco Zalone, Dino Abbrescia, Ivano Marescotti e Rocco Papaleo. Come se fosse una vera storia autobiografica, ecco la ballata del pugliese Checco che aspira al successo lassù al Nord. Da Polignano a Mare sale a Milano, si innamora di Marika ma si scontra con i pregiudizi leghisti del padre di lei. Finché, a sorpresa, non ottiene un trionfo con il suo primo spettacolo e diviene la preda più ricercata tra i discografici. Ormai è un fenomeno, ma vuol coronare il suo sogno d’amore. “Sono uno che spopola dove è tutto gratis come su Youtube – confessa preoccupato il comico a chi gli chiede una previsione incassi per questo film -. Era facile cadere nella retorica dello scontro sud e nord, ma il mio personaggio – confessa il comico – è cosi puro che non si accorge neppure della Lega, né della cocaina che scambia per gesso”.Sul fronte della tv Checco Zalone non sa ancora se parteciperà a Zelig (“se mi chiamano, vedremo sarebbe comunque per me la quinta edizione”), mentre si lascia andare nel commentare la moda dei talent-show: “Sono stato sia a ‘X Factor’ e che ad ‘Amici’ e devo dire che al programma con Morgan ho trovato che si prendono troppo sul serio, mentre la grande Maria De Filippi ha secondo me l’atteggiamento giusto”.
