E’ quanto accaduto alla quattordicenne britannica nota come “Beckii Cruel”, diventata famosa in Giappone ballando in video diffusi su YouTube le sigle delle canzoni dei cartoni animati giapponesi. Per lei, 14enne della sperduta isola di Man, nel Mar d’Irlanda, milioni di contatti sul Web e in arrivo ci sono anche un dvd e un cd. Si dice “nemo profeta in patria” e anche lei non sfugge alla regola. A regalarle la popolarità sono stati infatti i fan giapponesi. D’altronde, visto il genere di arte scelto da Beckii non poteva essere altrimenti. Lei racconta di essere stata ispirata dal manga “Fruit Basket”.
