La Rai ha accolto la richiesta del direttore artistico Gianmarco Mazzi e di Antonella Clerici che, a fronte dell’originalità delle canzoni presentate a Sanremo 2010, hanno proposto di portare il numero degli Artisti da 14 a 16. Questi i nomi scelti dalla commissione artistica del 60.mo Festival di Sanremo:

IRENE con ‘Il mondo piange’; – NOEMI con ‘Per tutta la vita’; – POVIA con ‘La verità (Eluana)’; – PUPO, EMANUELE FILIBERTO con il tenore LUCA CANONICI  con ‘Italia amore mio’; – ENRICO RUGGERI  con ‘La notte delle fate’; – VALERIO SCANU con ‘Un attimo con te’; – SONHORA  con ‘Baby’; – MARCO MENGONI.

Ci mancava il principe Savoia. E’ dunque Emanuele Filiberto l’ingrediente a sorpresa, che poi sorpresa non è, perché la sua partecipazione era ampiamente annunciata, del cast musicale del festival di Sanremo. Un cast concepito ad uso e consumo del pubblico televisivo, con tre cantanti da talent show (un posto spettava al vincitore di X Factor), una vecchia gloria, il cantante provocatore, l’inevitabile Morgan, un paio di ripescaggi d’autore e qualche scelta di qualità, compresa la salutare apertura al dialetto. Evidentemente non si può violare la regola per cui in gara a Sanremo dev’esserci posto per qualcuno che, in un modo o nell’altro, faccia “rumore”. Il caso Povia è il più clamoroso: dopo “I bambini fanno oh”, ha vinto un festival senza che nessuno se ne sia accorto, e l’anno scorso è stato protagonista di un tormentone mediatico per una canzone sul gay convertito all’eterosessualità che, per fortuna, è esistita soltanto durante il festival. Quest’anno alza il tiro e si presenta con un brano, figuriamoci, intitolato “La verità (Eluana)” dedicata al caso Englaro: che nel tritacarne di Sanremo arrivi anche una vicenda così delicata e così lacerante mette I brividi. Ci si domanda se davvero non se ne poteva fare a meno, visto che Povia non esiste nelle classifiche né vince i referendum delle riviste specializzate. Emanuele Filiberto arriva in coppia con Pupo e, tanto per non farsi mancare niente, anche in compagnia di un tenore: “Italia amore mio” non è, come scritto nei giorni scorsi, un omaggio alla monarchia, ma una lettera d’amore al nostro Paese. E’ ovvio che si tratta di un’operazione televisiva, che punta sulla popolarità guadagnata dal principe con “Ballando con le stelle” e sulla capacità di Pupo di essere un trait d’union tra la platea televisiva e la canzone. La presenza di Povia e di Emanuele Filiberto in gara fa quasi venire i rimorsi nel giudicare quella di Toto Cutugno, cui è stata assegnata la casella spettante alle vecchie glorie (la definzione ufficiale è più o meno “cantanti popolari”). I talent show si aggiudicano tre posti più uno, quello di Morgan: il primo spettava al vincitore di X Factor che è Marco Mengoni, gli altri sono andati a Valerio Scanu da Amici e Noemi, che dopo X Factor si è fatta notare per il suo duetto con Fiorella Mannoia. Quanto a Morgan, una carriera musicale alle spalle ce l’ha, ma sicuramente è diventato un personaggio grazie al suo ruolo di giudice a X Factor. Se, con il successo di “Sincerità”, Arisa si merita la promozione a big, è un bel segnale l’arrivo nel girone di Malika Ayane, uno dei personaggi più interessanti della nuova generazione. Che i Sonora siano dei big la dice lunga sulla situazione del mercato discografico italiano. Ineccepibile la scelta di Irene Grandi e Simone Cristicchi, che garantisce intelligenza e buon gusto, così come si meritano un omaggio I Nomadi che, con la benedizione di Zucchero, fanno da tutor a Irene Fornaciari. Un discorso a parte lo merita l’apertura al dialetto, una scelta sacrosanta che rispetta una tradizione fondamentale della nostra musica e tiene conto del presente. E proprio in questa chiave sembra giusto che ci sia una canzone napoletana cantata da Nino D’Angelo, che per la verità a Sanremo ha usato il dialetto già cinque volte. Un’altra consuetudine di Sanremo, in fine, è rappresentata dai ripescaggi: quest’anno tocca a Enrico Ruggeri e Fabrizio Moro. Ruggeri, che del festival è un veterano, è un artista dal passato nobile che, negli ultimi anni, è rimasto ai margini della musica e si è dedicato alla tv. Fabrizio Moro non è più riuscito a ripetere l’exploit di “Pensa”. Per tutti e due Sanremo è un’occasione di rilancio.
