Benicio Del Toro presenta a Roma “Wolfman”
Benicio Del Toro ed Emily Blunt sono arrivati a Roma per presentare “The Wolfman – L’Uomo Lupo”, nelle sale da venerdì. “Ho fatto molti film impegnati, ma ogni tanto mi piace mangiare un dolcetto, fare una pellicola che mi diverta, più leggero. E’ stato questo per me: diverso e divertente. Da domani ricomincerò col salato…”, ha dichiarato l’attore.Un film ispirato all’omonima pellicola del 1941 in cui per la prima volta apparve sullo schermo l’uomo licantropo che si trasforma nelle notti di luna piena. La nuova pellicola diretta da Joe Johnston si inserisce nella scia dei monster movie che nacquero negli anni 30-40 e che rese celebri personaggi come Dracula, Frankenstein, la Mummia. Il racconto fantastico in questo film ha accenti drammatici e romantici e, come spiega Del Toro: “Si è cercato di rendere la storia più realistica e credibile. Quello che io interpreto è un uomo che sembra affetto da una malattia, sembra vittima di una dipendenza da cui non può sfuggire, non è solo un uomo che si trasforma”. La pellicola in effetti ha molti elementi innovativi, come il rapporto edipico che lega il protagonista al padre, interpretato da un grande Anthony Hopkins, e l’umanità del personaggio, vittima più che carnefice. “Per interpretarlo mi sono ispirato ai grandi interpreti dei monster movie, come Boris Karloff in Frankestein: non volevo sembrare ridicolo con tutto quel trucco addosso, volevo sembrare vero, anche vulnerabile, come erano in origine questi personaggi” ha detto l’attore.
