Un nuovo album, ‘The Circle’ e un grande tour mondiale che porterà la band per ben 14 serate, già tutte esaurite, all’O2 Arena di Londra: i Bon Jovi tornano sulla scena internazionale con un disco carico di energia per il quale già si prevede il primo posto nelle classifiche britanniche questa settimana. Un album che rappresenta un ritorno ai temi più ’sociali’ di ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, che parla dei tempi odierni e della crisi economica, ma che – restando fedele alla tradizione di rock positivo del gruppo – trasmette una grande carica di speranza per il futuro.Il singolo ‘We Weren’t Born to Follow’, spiega Jon Bon Jovi, é stato scritto per ultimo e rappresenta proprio il nocciolo di questo percorso di ritorno della band: una canzone dedicata a chi ha sofferto insulti e soprusi e che riesce però a rialzarsi e a riscrivere la storia. Tutto il disco, racconta, è stato ispirato dagli eventi degli ultimi mesi: ‘Can We Be Happy Now’, per esempio, si riferisce all’elezione di Barack Obama, per il quale il leader della band, convinto democratico, nutre una profonda ammirazione. Al tour e al disco si accompagna anche l’uscita di un incredibile documentario, ‘When We Were Beautiful’ (titolo di un’altra canzone dell’album), girato nel 2007 durante la tournee di ‘Lost Highway’ che racconta con candore gli alti e bassi della band negli ultimi anni e come hanno sconfitto i loro demoni. Con una carriera di 26 anni e 120 milioni di dischi venduti alle spalle, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Tico Torres e David Bryan non hanno mai perso l’entusiasmo per il loro lavoro e la grande sinergia che li unisce.
